I am a causcasian American woman who has been blessed with a passion for travel and culture, among man other things. Having spent most of my youth moving around the United States with my mother, I decided to take my nomadism abroad before I was 20 years old. In the very early movements, I saw Scotland, Spain, and the Czech Republic. In 2000, at 21, I landed in Morocco and frankly, I knew before I got on the ferry from Algeciras, Spain, to Tangier that I was on the path to something great. What ensued was a lifeling journey negotiating my relationship with the Arab and Islamic world. Later, with my Moroccan husband, I lived in Turkey and the UAE. Together, we travelled through India and Oman and in mid-2010 we came to the USA.

I have begun this blog with the goal to explore aspects of my experience as both insider and outsider in the cultures I have lived in, including “my own.”

Please feel free to comment. I am very interested in hearing your thoughts and expereinces and in knowing what interests you as well.
